Once I recommend a book to 3+ people, I buy it to read myself. After I recommend 5 times I crack it open to familiarize myself with it enough to fake having read it After 7, I feel guilty enough to actually read it, at which point there’s a 50-50 chance I’ll turn against it

Yeah it's possible I'm misremembering (I read both reviews) but either way, by the time I opened the book I knew most of what it was saying already.
