People who act on behalf of structurally oppressive systems give up any right to expect politeness or social grace when doing so. They've chosen to be agents of a social structure based on violence and are only owed what violence can buy them.

So, should we invite cops to our parties, or do they deserve social pushback for their actions? It's not black and white, and trying to make it that way never works, but it also has to go both ways.

Structurally oppressive systems oppress people, including the people who act on its behalf. If I had a friend who was a cop because that was their only option, or they wanted to change it from the inside, 10/10 would invite. And how do I know their story? I might not.

Huh. Well, that's your call. I'd consider the massive risk that you're opening everyone else you know up to before even thinking of that, but hey, have fun.
