    Why I believe 2020/21 EU targets achievable: - inclusion of 🇳🇴 - PHEVs comeback | >50% mix large models - BEV supply ↑ - 48V MHEV - Supercredits (max. 7.5g/km over 3yrs) for vehicles <50g/km - Eco-innovations 7g/km pa. - Carsharing/fleet deals - Weight ↑ = +1-2g/km target

  2. It will be interesting to see if a continued will have an impact on the European 2020 passenger car CO2 targets? Why? A high proportion of battery cells come from China. Delays could pose OEMs problems with a lack of supply as they need to push plug-ins this year

Volvo Cars see 2020 as the year of the and 2021 the . Important to note: In 2020 only 95% of the fleet are counted towards the fleet average and the worst 5% can be omitted (phase-in). 2021 100% are included. Likely strategy used by other premium OEMs too

I can't believe not one question was asked at the 2019 FY results press conference!!! How about: : European BEV mix in 2020/21? role-out progress? Coronavirus impact, considering it is a Chinese owned company

. CFO Carla De Geyseleer says "we will meet our European 2020 goals and don't plan on paying any fines at all" Volvo Cars expects a big rise in their PHEV mix in Europe saying that in December the PHEV mix rose to 18% across the region.

What a month for a number of OEMs to stop publishing monthly registrations data when we are all looking to see what kind of impact the is having across the industry

France gives an indication of how 2020 European BEV registrations are likely to head. German/UK volumes despite moderate (under the circumstances) increases are still likely to rise further: German govt mea culpa, UK quiet before fiscally charged storm. More in the Jan report

Warning non-automotive and partisan views... As much as I love I doubt he can swing it with the middle voters and the US would be left in a similar position to the UK with the hopeless . In order to remove I would back folks

13.5% of global January sales were models (Jan 2019: 7.5%). The company is aiming for plug-in hybrid cars to reach a 20% share of sales in 2020 according to Volvo Cars.

I'm taking a stab in the dark here: I'm guessing the whole irrationality of some auto stocks could be a reason why two hugely regarded auto analysts, that have been rationally analyzing the market for years, are jumping ship. Doesn't seem much point to put the effort in I guess

Consequential fall in France's passenger car registrations (96g/km) in January resulting from pure electric cars accounting for 8.2% (2.0% Jan '19) of the total market and combined plug-ins (inc. PHEVs) accounting for 11% of the market. More here:

Another indication of OEMs likely to meet EU targets (if we didn't have enough already) and to make a mockery of some doomsayer reporting... 39.9% of Volvo/Polestar's domestic January passenger car deliveries were plug-ins Bil Sweden, research

If there was any mistaking what year we have just entered, a glance at France's January passenger car registrations data gives more than just a few pointers and why targets are likely to be achieved...

Interesting to see 's Marketing Chief, Jochen Sengpiehl openly use the hashtag. In most German OEM presentations I've been present at of recent have received a mention on a slide or two also.

Hugely disappointing that more automakers - such as in this case - are deciding NOT to publish their sales data on a monthly basis

Thanks to the fiscally charged fourth quarter... The total number of vehicles on Dutch roads (Parc) is already almost equal to Dacia. Already more Model 3s roaming Dutch roads than Toyota Prius, despite just 11-months of deliveries. RAI/Bovag data

4 miles EV range more and it would have been a significant 3 percentage point lower BIK rate. Surprised they didn’t calibrate it slightly differently for the UK.
