Anybody who has followed general GDQ criticism has heard this, but what I find so interesting about this argument is that it is a talking point manufactured by hack YouTubers like Ap*llo Legend, et al and spread in the same ways that a lot of political talking points are spread.

Of course anybody who has ever done a run at any marathon knows that this isn't true and that they ask you to say fuck *less* than you usually would and not to say the gamer (with a hard R) word, but to people who have built a personality around punching down, this is censorship.

Otherwise, it's bad business to make runners exceedingly uninteresting in the name of some "corporate dogma" when the whole goal is producing entertaining content that would bring in donations. Anybody with a brain could tell you that it's complete nonsense.

But this is the sort of talking point created by post-/pol/ SRG and spread using the standard alt-right strategy: tell the lie, sound like you believe it's true, and others will assume it is. Eventually unsuspecting dimwits will repeat it as fact.

Anyways, all this to say, there's nothing interesting about the criticism itself, but how it is so common, despite not touching on any actual valid or worthwhile criticisms.

1) I don't know about the first one, do you have actual receipts on that one, because this was the first hit for me on Google.https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/are-charitable-ngos-trafficking-people-across-the-mediterranean/ …
