There are a large number of Ramayana versions all over India, which vary from the North Indian standard. There are wellknown differences between Valmiki and Tulsidas. There are differences in how women interpret the Ramayana. But boys fight over Columbia vs Rutgers.https://twitter.com/saliltripathi/status/987377019003555840 …

Definitely. But childish in the extreme to make it some silly fight between American universities. Also there are versions in India which are critical of Lord Ram, even as Maryada Purshottam. Fight with scholarship, not by showing off about some school you went to.

I don't come from an elite family. Don't know American universities. But I do know my culture. There is no concept like blasphemy in the Vedic way. We are encouraged to question. I do that too. Publicly. But at the same time, I will defend my culture from some racist bigot.
-
Your prerogative. Am not arguing with that. My point was not aimed at you but rather some boy ranting about his American college which gave him such special rights. Sannu ki?
-
Khik khik. I'm wondering if it's possible to critise what's been said of Ram without attacking "that racist" "bigot". Or is it too unfashionable?
-
I am wondering if its possible to criticise Ram's treatment of Sita without abusing him? Or is it too unfashionable or rather a non qualification to find entry into pseudo liberal group ?
