No, @authoramish!! Ipso facto, common names don't imply Shiva & Vishnu are same. Just mean Shiva is ‘pervader’ and Vishnu is ‘auspicious’.

confused !Thought other way round -Vishnu means " pervader " & Shiva is " auspicious" ! एक सत् बहुधा कल्पयन्ति
@authoramish -
When Vishnu is called Shiva in VSN & when Shiva is called Vishnu, means Vishnu is auspicious, Shiva is pervader.
-
He is not commenting wehther they're same or not, just saying "common name" doesn't implies tht they're same
-
thanks for clearing my query ! One more query-what logic will prove they are same ?
-
Shastra alone is the guide. अनेकसंशयोच्छेदि परोक्षार्थस्य दर्शकम्। सर्वस्य लोचनं शास्त्रं यस्य नास्त्यन्ध एव सः॥
-
VS &SS are not शास्त्र ?If शास्त्र reliable logic is still based on inference only
@authoramish@rvaidya2000 -
VS & SS are absolutely right but still they don't imply their sameness..
