In fact, there was very very limited resistance to Raja Ram Mohan Roy on Sati. Most Hindus did not even react. Simply because they didn't practice Sati.

We need people like you who can clear the wrong description of history when it comes to Hinduism.
-
While what you say may be true, but the evidence should come from history and not mythology
-
Well, I had a grand nanny born in 1890, widowed within 3 years of her marriage but went on to live till 95 years of her age... may be that counts as history.
-
Further, have never heard of sati in my village or villages of my relatives.
-
Sati must be fiction then
-
you should have a sex change and then commit sati to prove yourself right then...
-
Have no intention or benefit in proving it either way
-

Logical answer by
@authoramish. Of course, he'll be labeled a "Sanghi" & may be a#MeToo
against him comes up too. I cheer his courage for silencing a loud mouth. Usually, when people get settled in life, they stop taking stands & get diplomatic but Amish did the right thing. -
When you get settled you can get free from financial duty but not from social duty...if we be quite seeing wrong in front of us then our brains are no different from animals brains which don't know right wrong and think only about feeding himself
-
Very true. In fact, a lot of people message me and suggest me to stay away from my tendency of calling wrong things out because in that process I might draw a bad blood with some important people. My humble answer: To hell with you and those important people.

The biggest enemies of Hinduism are people like you and
@amish who want to keep it in the shakles of medivial practices.A true Hindu is progressive and modern. -
very funny dude.
@authoramish is correcting hindu haters, not supporting Sati. you are a char if you can not understand that much. interact with Rajdeep... you will love that. - 2 more replies

अनपढ़ को पढ़ाया जा सकता है, अमीश जी। पढ़े लिखे पंडुकों को नहीं।

Prof. Meenakshi Jain’s monumental book on Sati is a good starting point. It states that a narrative of sati was cooked up by British Christian missionaries to demonise Indian civilisation and justify colonial rule in India.http://journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.1177/0376983617694691 …

Sir Well shared. I personally feel that we should re verify the history we are being taught.
