No one is hating the rich it's a matter of playing by the rules. As it stands now there seems to be an entitlement by the very rich and big biz to lean on PAYE taxpayers.

That's not accurate, only 43% of the adult population are net tax payers (PS excluded) with the top 10 % paying 50 % of personal income tax revenue
-
The top 10% paying 50%? I think it's more close to zero.
-
Doesn’t sound like this guy Bob pays much tax at all.
-
The current tax system is unsustainable
-
Not when Big Biz rips out an estimated $60B a year in tax evasion. If these peeps paid their fair share the tax burden could fall. The Big Biz who are paying tax averages around 17%.

Income pa is just a point In time also. It doesn’t mean that individual has had a chance to accumulate wealth. Some professionals study for 10 years (With no or little income) in order to get that salary. It’s not equitable to then take over 1/3 of their income

What should we tax the rich? 75%? 90%? In a country where half of households pay nett tax, it's a bit "rich" to demand the government go after our most successful citizens even more. Spread the load more evenly and cut spending and the country would be swimming in money.

Encouraging aspiration, social mobility and reducing the tax burden for all Australians should be a no-brainer. The plan might not be perfect but it’s definitely a sensible step forward!

Tax a poor persons $100 at 50% makes them even poorer. Tax a rich persons 1million. Leaves them $500,000. Cry me a bloody river. They,d hardly wake up homeless.

Rich people use family discretionary trusts to spread income and pay minimal or nil tax. Ask the partners at the big legal and accounting firms. No on is bashing the rich, if they're upset, go find another country.
-
I hear about these amazing trust rorts all the time but every adult in Australia gets the same income tax threshold. So how much money could be saved? Everyone needs money to live. This magical accounting seems like a lot of work for very little gain.

I will continue to hate the rich because they get off scot free in this country while telling me to live within my means. I make $60k and it’s okay to take a third of my pay??? But if someone’s making $200k it’s unfair to take the same percentage????
