We are a country of unaffordable housing - so many homeless & struggling to keep a roof over their heads. And not one mention of assistance by the Govt in last night's #Budget2018. No 2nd guess as to who the buyers will be... #auspol @TurnbullMalcolm @billshortenmp

If ever there was an area where creative thought and deed are desperately needed, housing is the one. I seem to recall NZ's PM coming up with some bright ideas to deal with homelessness. If the ideas are worthwhile, I do hope our Govt will borrow and adopt those ideas.

You know what makes me angry about this whole situation? Travel by bus between the International Terminal & Domestic Airport Terminal in Sydney - every single bill board is in Chinese about buying property in Sydney. That is what this Government is all about.

I hear you, MK. The Chinese property buying situation has me perplexed: just who these buyers are, what they are doing with the properties, etc. The Govt could introduce laws making it unlawful for non-Aust citizens to own land. Would that deter Chinese buyers? Possibly not.

It is frustrating to see the Govt chasing money from foreign interests rather than looking after the very ppl that voted for them in the 1st place. Secondly, seeing those billboards will make other tourists wonder if they are in Australia or China.

Again: completely agree with you. I'm sure there are creative solutions to these problems, solutions no-one has yet thought of. One thing is certain: our current political system is broken and outdated and needs some peaceful "disruption" for significant change to be achieved.
