@IzzyFolau mate you're the best player we've got. We love watching you play with the Wallabies.
No one's saying you need to change your beliefs, just more tact when you're speaking in a public forum. It would be the same in league or any other professional sport.

A Muslim player would never be asked to renounce his religious beliefs. He doesn't need to have more tact when speaking in public about his beliefs. Either we have religious freedom or not.
-
I can’t recall the last time Hazem El Masri called for gay people to burn in hell. Can you? His beliefs have always been respected, and he always returned the same level of respect. Izzy is a dickhead, regardless of his religious beliefs.
-
I think Izzy seems like a genuinely nice guy, I think his beliefs are fairly similar to a lot of religious people (which I don't share) I think the issue is how he chose to express himself. Regardless of his beliefs, as a Christian his primary job is to love everyone.
-
True. However love requires criticism, you can love someone and not agree with certain practices. Islamic clerics for instance critise the western way of life, yet still love Australia and are accepted regardless.
-
There's a difference between having an opinion and saying 'you're all gonna burn in hell'. A more diplomatic response would be 'i believe that's sin, however as I'm not God it's not for me to judge', see the difference?
-
Yeah lets start analysing what everyone says to make sure it's diplomatic and agreeable to everyone

When you're on multi-million dollar contacts, representing Rugby Australia, which, like all professional sports has inclusion and social media policies, and sponsors it's prudent to consider your public statements.

People should be able to say what they want doesn't make them a bad person

People should be able to respond to what has been said.

Seriously who give a stuff it’s his view & that’s fine, other people have other views & that’s also fine. What ever happened to free speech in this country, without people getting offended all the time. We are also allowed to speak our minds.
