And so it should. The vitriol directed towards him has been disgusting. Yeah he’s made a huge blue, but not sure the public punishment of late has really fit the crime.

Media manipulation. First they have you baying for blood, now they have you feeling sorry. Their aim is to sell newspapers and ads on news broadcasts. They don’t care about #SteveSmith so don’t fall for it. They were caught cheating. The rest is just media histrionics.

Well done @stevesmith49 and Cam Bancroft for fronting up. @davidwarner31 if you want to earn back some respect, you’d best tell the whole story. It takes a real man to open the kimono and bear all. This could be your best option. #thinkhard

I think the Australian people should stand behind Steve, the other cou tries will try to put him down by taking cheap Shots, support him, try to revoke ban or atleast get it down to 5 matches, a little more than what ICC prescribed. As an Indian, I feel the punishment is harsh.

"Cricket is the greatest game...so I showed my appreciation by f*cking with it". Same old shit that came out after Hughes' death about the "spirit of game" & what's important. They were back at the sledging in no time". They don't respect the game, they just use it. Good riddance

It's not a game at that level, Tony. It's a multi-million dollar business. The game is left at Sheffield Shield level. Make no mistake.

It also got exposed because of tv cameras. So who knows what happens at lower levels. I'd like to think the "spirit" is there but...

If this happened at Sheffield Shield level it would be a smack on the wrist and don't get caught again scenario. This has cost Cricket Australia 20 million bucks so far and climbing. THAT is why the penalty must match the crime.

Took a lotta guts to face the media like that, he’ll comeback stronger I reckon . Maybe Bancroft too. Warner? Couldn’t care less what he says or does.
