It`s because of shares that banks stopped paying any interest rates on savings

Didn't bother Morrison when it was penalty rates being taken away from thousands and thousands of low paid workers. Why the worry now?

If your ordinary deductions etc bring your taxable income down to wipeout the tax you have paid, you do not get back more tax than you paid. Div imp. will still be set against yr tax. If it is then nil why should you get back more than you paid? You already had dividend income.

That dividend income has already been taxed if it is fully franked, why should it be taxe again? Why penalise someone who is trying to become financially independent in retirement, saving the taxpayers from more welfare by being self funded.

Pensioners and retirees who are able to invest in shares or have investment properties are not short of a quid, they can afford to pay the tax. Majority of the pensioners I know can hardly afford a day out let alone buying shares. #FAIRtax
