Yes, both in numbers and by improving quality. Shame on Greg Sheridan and Mathias Cormann for pushing the endless growth argument. Our largest cities are becoming unlivable. Bigger is not necessarily better.

Agreed. Students are okay as they come and go, plus they pay, but where do we put almost 200,000 new people a year ?

Labor introduced post-graduate work visas, so many do not go home. IF they don't get that visa they often move on to partner of other visas. Even Dutton admitted that on 2GB this morning.

It's last remote chance for Lib re-election. I assume they'll realize that closer to the election and that tax cuts won't do it. They'll rebadge Abbott's idea as their own.

Then be prepared for lower growth economy. Australia is very much a two tiered primary and service based economy.

Have you had a look at per capita growth? We are no better off from this mass immigration and now housing is unaffordable, roads are congested, services stretched and wage growth low due to too many people and not enough jobs.

Main muslim migration began in the 60s & 70s, with Lebanese & Turkish migration. Majority are now 2nd & 3rd generation and most have integrated properly. Most migration in the last 20 years has been from China & India.
