Unless I've missed it, @VictoriaPolice should explain why not a single arrest from St Kilda Beach riots. Yet local Inspector keenly advised @cityportphillip to extend foreshore grog ban. European backpackers who can handle alcohol not the problem: African gangs are. #springst

On Thursday I asked the Police minister how many arrests and charges have come from the St Kilda riot. Waiting for written response.

Assiduous MLC. Keep on the case as no one should want to stop European travellers sensibly enjoying themselves. Contribute hugely to local economy! Many @VictoriaPolice staff diligent, but unsavoury whiff of political correctness is coming from spokesman at St Kilda Police.

It takes a while for news to catch up Gracie. This might helphttp://www.theage.com.au/victoria/victoria-the-safest-it-s-been-for-10-years-says-abs-20180208-p4yzpj.html …

Pull up a chair, thicky. The first underlined bit is irrelevant, as less offenders are now committing MORE crime, usually on probation AND bail. The circled bit backs this up, AND speaks for itself. Try to read AND understand next time, eh? There's no safety in these stats.pic.twitter.com/9u33cHXZFl

With yearly population growth in Victoria of 2.4%, it’s no surprise (as there’s more people living in the state). The per capita figures are more reliable as they take into account the increase in population and clearly show you’re less likely to be a victim of crime in Vic.

Read the paragraph DIRECTLY above the circled one. The COUNTS for homicide are going down. The per capita figures must be racing down, eh? So we are becoming less violent, except for the increase in violent crime. Got it. Shall we blame the 2.4%ers ? Correlation/causation?

The other logical explanation is the increase in reported domestic violence. Crimes involving an intention to cause injury include unlawful assault which is often charged in spousal/de facto violence matters. This is on the rise because women are (rightly) standing up against it.

Are these the figures where shouting over the phone is domestic violence? I'd really like that clarified first.

No that’s use a telephone carriage service to menace (s474 of the Criminal Code). Unlawful Assault is s23 of the Summary Offences Act. The recent spike in our criminal courts relates to physical abuse and actual bodily harm. It’s primarily a male anger issue, not a racial one.

Sounds a bit like some cities in the US, need to clean up the government and have proper governance, like TRUMP.

Australia will not be privatising their police force. Ever. That is a ridiculous idea that Hitler's supporters would have applauded.
