Graham Richardson says America’s shutdown mess makes it easy to conclude that the Australian democracy we too often deride for its faults is probably the world’s besthttp://bit.ly/2Dz0dWG

Not the worlds best when it is driven my media spin and drama, dragged away from big issues of economic importance by short-term emotional driven issues with no tangible benefits to the nation. Shame.

Trump won the election but the Democrats will not accept the outcome, the division and shutdown is caused by them and supported by elements of the MSM that persist with an anti-Trump agenda. Trump is a flawed individual but has achieved a lot for the people of the US in 12 mths.

The Australia government shut down a long time ago @SkyNewsRicho . The Australian public is forced to wade knee deep through nonsense like the date of Australia Day and a republic plebiscite because our political class have lost the will to do anything substantive.

Four bad PMs in a row means we have a crisis in leadership in Australia

I think it’s worse than that. The modern political class is dreadful and the media is largely complicit. I wouldn’t feed most of them. This is why Trump won.

Actually Ricoh's correct but our system doesn't sell news, must be torture for the media Australia moved on from this nonsense a long time ago Regardless of political nonsense the government needs to remain functional which seems to be something the USA hasn't grasped yet

Yet Richo wants an Australia President to further fragment authority...?

Rubbish reasoning on multiple fronts. Stability doesn't equate with quality. Accurately, the USA is a constitutional republic not a democracy. Is Richo promoting our constitution rather than our democracy? If so, don't change it. If we need to change it, maybe the US do too.

(p.t 2). What happened with Gough Whitlam in the 1975 constitutional crisis? What happens when the knives come out between Rudd&Gillard, Turnbull&Abbott? What exactly is the difference between federal Liberal and Labor these days? What key policies to improve Aus in last 12 mths?

#shitnews so the world only consists of the U.S. and Australia? Lots of other well functioning democracies out there that may well be better than both
