If MP GP Di Natale put as much effort into aiding Aboriginal Health as he has in "Changing The Date"? Far out! Medico GP Of The Year. What a freaking fraud he is. What has he actually done pro bono for Aboriginal health? He's a walking, talking do nothing fraudster. #auspol

This issue is bigger than richardson di natale and turnbull. Millions want it change. Many need it changed. It will change. Not this year, maybe not next year but I predict by 2020 we will have a random date that unites Australians.
-
And millions do not want it changed
-
But why is that, Heather? I still can't fathom it - given the date has been changed before, why do those millions opposing change have such a strong attachment to one particular date?
-
Because it’s not the lefts to change.
-
But, again Parker - that's such a reactive answer. It STILL doesn't explain why people who are not 'on the left' don't themselves want to change it (or at least, why they oppose changing it so vehemently). Why the attachment to January 26?
-
Because I reject the 'Change the date' sides argument, it's just a waste of time. This virtue signaling and white guilt driven campaign will not being one aboriginal kid out of poverty.
-
I agree with you, Parker, that symbolic action doesn't help improve people's material conditions on its own (that is, "bringing" aboriginal kids out of poverty). But there's no reason we can't do both. If people like you didn't oppose it, we could
#ChangeTheDate tomorrow... -
We can change anything if people dont oppose it, fortunately there's a massive backlash against changing it. I'm in the majority, sorry for making democracy work.

Death to the Greens & all those who rubbish our National Day ! Na death is a bit much , just make them watch us have a BBQ, Open a Bottle& Celebrate the Greatest Country in the World & they can’t change it !
-
They don't want to change people's ability to have BBQs, open bottles & celebrate being Australian, Peter - they just want it to be on a less divisive, symbolically hurtful date. January 26 has only been a national public holiday since 1994.
-
The support that Australians have for ADay remaining exactly where it is is overwhelming
-
With all due respect Graham, what does current support for maintaining Jan 26 as A-Day have to do with the substance of Peter's claim (that
#ChangeTheDate wants to stop people celebrating being Australian) and my response that such a claim is false or at least misleading? -
Ben , With respect , it isn’t the date , you may feel that way , but whatever is proposed , will never be acceptable to some ! 70%+ want to keep the 26th , Perhaps our aboriginal brothers & sisters may have to suck it up & move on ! There are many more pressing issues !
-
Peter, I understand that some want to abolish celebration of any national day altogether. But many others, including me, do not - they merely advocate for a different, more symbolically inclusive date on which to do so.
-
Sorry Ben , there are about 5 Days allocated to aboriginal causes etc , I don’t complain, March, threaten to burn the joint ! I Tolerance Mate , no one celebrates invasion , when were you ever at a bbq where invasion was mentioned ? Me never , we ALL celebrate our Country !

Richo, good article mate and I hope you’re on the mend. One Nation have always known that the Greens were dangerous and crazy far left - it’s good to see you realise this - unfortunately Blinky Bill is sitting on the fence - this is bad
