Middle age doesn't cause this policy. Men don't cause this policy. Moral incompetence does, probably fuelled by religious ideals that make no sense. Blaming age and gender is a complete red herring that doesn't bring anyone closer to resolving this issue.

Policy on reproductive healthcare being formulated without adequate consultation or involvement of women is a real issue... has been a significant problem in the US in recent times, for example. Agree there may be a religious component though, yes.

That brings us back to the idea of a real democratic system where the population vote on issues and not elect people to vote on issues for them.

Possibly... although if the parliament in the current system better represented the make-up of society it would be an improvement.

That is too costly because you have to pay people to represent ideas. It's also flawed because the people with the most money and most spare time can afford to lobby more. A voting app would resolve this issue at the root.
