FFS. Just get out there on mass. Beat the crap out of them if necessary. Then capture and deport these thugs.

Not soft when it comes to aussies but totally soft when it comes to immigrant gangs too PC and afraid of being accused of racial profiling. Law needs to change to give police authority to round them up and ship then straight back from whence they came

It's not soft police, the problem lies with Dan Andrews he needs to let police do what police do best

Just having to say "we are not soft " speaks for itself. And if if you are "tough" it's only on normal law abiding citizens who might have been slightly over the speed limit or .05 for once in their life. No mercy there. But thugs and gangs can run riot without fear.

May not be soft. But is too weak to do anything about the prolonged African Violence

Of course they aren't soft; they just need a little time to analyse all the intelligence data collected. Only then will they send bills to McDonalds and the people of St. Kilda for "protection services rendered".

#Australia they're soft> 'tough' cops were kicked out as not being #PC ... now, you have 'small' cops (no restrictions), who cannot deal with physical violence by presence alone, in environment where respect has been lost> #Police are seen as computer controlled revenue raisers.

Soft is not the word to describe Vic cops . Crime appears to be out of control , gangs are running amuck and the cops appear hamstrung . Law and order comes from the top and unfortunately Vic has a very weak Premier who needs a swift kick up his backside .

I had feared this would be some transparent attempt to dismiss legitimate criticism with a series of empty platitudes. How wrong I was. Vic Police certainly dealt with the old canard that they make The Keystone Kops look like Seal Team Six. Jazz hands!
