An apology doesn't contain "if anyone was offended" and go on to boast how disabled should be grateful for his work for them. What an arrogant born to rule idiot. #BennelongVotes

Mischievous my disabled arse. Too much pride? This is WHY we are painted as rorters and leaners and burdens on society. We expect better from our elected representatives. We are disabled. And we vote.

He meant he was too proud because he isn't disabled, he was just injured, a big difference. If you constantly examine everything for 'something' that could possibly be construed as offensive then you will find it everywhere.

We tend NOT to have to 'constantly examine' everything for offensive things, dear. It's pretty offensive not being able to access day to day things because jerks don't want to obey the law. And then it's pretty offensive being regarded as 'less-than' when we DO get access.

We do find it everywhere. We are promoted as bludgers and leaners, while non disabled people are seen as battlers and lifters. Fuck that stereotype. I have worked since I was 16 years old and I am now 50. 'Too proud to be like you' - would you like it if someone said that?

He didn't say that though. You decided to take it that way, big difference.

Then just maybe he should engage his brain to withdraw head from his arse and his foot from his mouth before talking No wonder they didn't let him talk before the ballots closed He seemed smarter when it came to serving balls over a net #GameSetAndMatch #DumbLiberals #AusPol

John Alexander's comment was about triumph against adversity. It was not derogatory. He had just won an against the odds battle.

Pretty obvious that JA was using humour to point out he’s trying to push back against ageism. Also taking a swipe at the misuse of disabled parking by those more able bodied people.
