Gillian Triggs has criticised the PM’s comment that there can be no mental health excuse for a terrorist in the wake of the Bourke Street terror attack https://www.theaustralian.com.au/business/media/broadcast/qa-recap-gillian-triggs-hits-out-at-scott-morrison-over-bourke-street-comments/news-story/afabdf43d18a07233746f7d88f7e0341 … #qanda

@GillianTriggs needs this excuse to be in place when she's brought to justice... One day. Hopefully soon!

you can always trust QandA to pull out the hard core leftneck dumbasses to chastise everyone but the murderer himself and make out that he was the victim in all this. . this miserable old crone dumped her disabled daughter and left her for dead, . that's how virtuous she isn't!

Oh, does she not know criminal law? Apparently not. Mental health has never been a complete exculpation for homicide

So why don't we send psychologists to the Middle East and strike Isis at the core.

Quite rightfully. Access to mental health care and treatment for identified at risk individuals could prevent them acting on delusions and hallucinations. Dismissing the place of mental illness in relation to terrorism places the community at additional and avoidable risk.

Does this finally expose the nonsense of ‘mental health’ legal defence that lawyers and prominent people seem fixated on? Soon there will be no crime left that does not try this defence as an escape from conviction.

I think 🤔Ms Triggs is so negative all the time, because her Christian name starts with a G instead of a J. She was always a great 👍 Speaker and had so much to say, now just a bit whiney. What’s happened!!! 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️

Mental illness has taken over from the drunks defence as a go to for shiny knob virtuous lawyers and their band of bleeding hearts - stuff the victims just make sure you dampen down the the punishment.
