You get the impression the gaggle of wreckers who tore down Malcolm Turnbull might now realise the damage they’ve done, writes @vanOnselenP #auspolhttps://www.theaustralian.com.au/opinion/columnists/peter-van-onselen/peter-van-onselen-reality-dawns-on-turnbull-wreckers/news-story/798eb3e3b4e7420fb5c0f6a5dc6f0125 …

Don’t know why you tweeted this. The article is behind a paywall and I would NEVER pay a cent to any Murdoch enterprise

The paywall can be circumvented but I've found even the modest effort required to do so inevitably, always leads to disappointment

Thank you. I concur the effort would not be worth it - Murdoch rags are only useful if cut into 4 inch by 4 inch squares and hung on a nail in the loo.

Along similar lines, I used a copy the 'The Australian' to wipe paint off of paint stirrers, as a small and easily managed drop sheet, to rest paint tins, lids and brushes on, wipe silicone off of applicators and general mess minimisation

it was cathartic using something which generally causes chaos and disruption to keep things clean and it ended up in the rubbish, which is such an appropriate metaphor

What about those that tore down Abbott who had two consecutive strong electoral results?

Abbott was already on the nose at the time of the 2016 election. And the support for independents was evident then, as now in #WentworthVotes. If Abbott won't go willingly, then #Election2019 voters will do it for him. #auspol

Proves two things (1) They haven't any idea of just how much damage they've done to their own party (2)They are so totally engossed with their own infighting they are not fit to govern Australia

The far right want to own the Liberal Party. And they are prepared to lose the next election to make that happen. Seat by seat they will install right wing zealots such as the candidate chosen to replace Julia Banks. This is an extinction event happening before our eyes.

Peter who? Ohh, you mean that left wing idiot that nobody takes any notice of? Van Onselen is suffering from the same disease that Malcolm Turnbull suffers from - it’s called “relevance deprivation” and they both belong in the dust bin of “who the hell cares” what they think.

It's funny that this is the threshold for you. Suddenly. The catastrophic apoplectic language but when Turnbull took down Abbott? Virtual crickets! Most in the media celebrated. The double standard is breathtaking!
