I’m happy to chip in to help the former dual citizen, economic migrant, Tony Abbott, move to Nauru, in exchange for the release from detention of families and children. I think it’s a fair swap, I’ll even throw in a shipping container for his left over copies of Battlelines.

Then why aren't journos allowed there? The truth is: it's a gutted wasteland of dead phosphate mines, the gains that should've provided decades of sovereign wealth spunked away by corrupt and foolish administration(s). Now they suckle at the teat of a racist Australian govt.

If that’s the case, I can’t understand why photographers, TV crews and journalists aren’t welcomed with open arms.

Yes of course an island made up of birdshit with no money that can grow nothing sounds great. It depends on our money to survive and as such wants the current situation to continue.

Has a journalist from this newspaper ever been to Nauru to confirm this statement? And just when I think I can't dislike this man any more, he proves me wrong.

Yes, journalist @chriskkenny has been there. Refugees are not in detention and move freely in the community. Some operate businesses.https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/amp.theaustralian.com.au/news/inquirer/dateline-nauru-sifting-truth-from-spin/news-story/22ac3fac71e0df65fa0cab09b6ff2270 …

Yes, and nothing has changed, except that there are now only 52 kids left on Nauru, as the gov has been working on getting them off the island. Where is your concern for our indigenous kids who at this very minute are being abused and neglected? Just another lefty hypocrite!

It was mined by Australia to the point where it is basically uninhabitable and only has one industry: refugees. And I'd happily swap every one of them for Tony.
