I remember the drownings, wasnt that the point at which both major parties stopped playing games and decided to act, I hope we don't go back to that situation again.

Due to the rise of the short man? Well that will be on his head then, and so how long before it comes back to bite him, he'd calculate that, being risk-averse. He seems like more a runner than a fighter and not likely to return to the scene of a crime. Bit of a worry though.

He will cop heaps of pressure though internally. The libs also seem to be forgetting the lessons of open borders.

With conflict about to break out on the USA Mexico border they may all get a very clear reminder of what happens when external interests start trying to dictate such things to you. Failing to protect the country's sovereign rights only appeals to the loony left, the Greens etc.

Yes. That will be interesting! Certainly spice up those mid terms. Presumably organised and timed by some getup style group over there. Let’s hope it backfires spectacularly.

"some getup style group" yeah well that is one way of saying "communists" they are manipulative bastards and use peasants as cannon fodder but keep the power for their own little clique. I have family over there in C.A. lived there for about 2 years too. Commies even threaten me.

33 boats in 5 years? Seriously? So about 6 boats a year. All the hype from the Coalition over the years makes it seem like they repelled a D-Day scale invasion.
