@ausretrogamer Aww hell no! 1541 with a fastload or mach 5 preferred! *the* only way IMHO! ;)
@ausretrogamer The only thing I could save to datacassette when I didn't have a 1541 was 65 blocks of Pole Position.Loaded at school.
@ausretrogamer Was it something like 5 seconds for every 255byte block? 65*5=325 seconds, so something like 5 minutes? musta been longer!
@TheJohnTalent it felt slower than that. Oh yeah, the azimuth was a nightmare too. I used my mum’s sewing kit screwdriver :D
@ausretrogamer Well, I know there was a software based fastloader. Only one I'm aware of.
@TheJohnTalent yes! There was. I used Disk Nibbler, but I got into hacking cracktros with it instead.
@ausretrogamer I used Fast Hack Em by Mike Henry and Pirate's Toolbox. Those were some days. The bleeding edge of software then.
@TheJohnTalent I’ve just had a nostalgic overload! Oh hell yeah, Fast Hack Em!
@ausretrogamer If you used Austrian Copy it would play 'When I'm 64' by the Beatles as you copy the disks.
