Don’t let anyone tell you at 18 when you go to college you have to have you’re entire life and career figured out. Facebook was JUST a thing when I went into college and YouTube wasn’t a household name. /2

I’ve done many careers (including precollege jobs which are equally diverse and random). I was successful in all of them BECAUSE I CONSTANTLY GAVE 110%. No one starts out AMAZING. You have to learn and grow. Even being GOOD at those jobs, they didn’t spark a huge passion. /3

So I moved on. I tried something new, something that interested another part of my hobbies. From each job, I learned a valueable skill I took to the next. Eventually, I DID find a job I was passionate about - the gaming industry and helping people within it. /4

There’s zero way I could have prepared myself for that job in 2004 going into college. But, I continued to learn and grow and pursue things that I was passionate about. I gave my all every day. /5

My point is: allow yourself time & patience to grow and explore new things. Don’t set yourself on a trajectory & assume you always have to stay there. You dont. Youre not a tree - if youre unhappy, uproot and move. Always give your max effort & what you learn and you’ll succeed.pic.twitter.com/s13JDhqmkg

OH ONE MORE THING: Ive used skills I learned in college every day. Maybe not math or environmental science, but responsibility, people skills, and my degree-specific lessons. Your college degree doesn’t have to LIMIT your career options. It’s still valuable. Stay in school

No. Now I focus on set design for
@rollplay. I also owned an apparel company (forgot to list that in my resume). If I stop learning for too long I get really unhappy ;-; - Show replies
