I sort of feel like I’d drive to LA sooner than I’d drive to SF but I’ll keep you posted

-
Feel free to DM me the location next time. In LA, I have street tacos one a week or once every other week, but I’m already missing them more than I thought I would....

Question from Texas- Are elotes limited to street taco vendors? My research thus far says yes, but no data from Cali.
-
Not at all! I can only explain what happens in LA, which is that an individual person will often sell elotes in a wheeled cart. Sometimes there’s a street stand, but those often serve churros, too (not tacos).

Thank you

Wait. Did you move to Oakland and I miss the memo? Also, on game days there used to be all sorts of street food on the Pedestrian bridge that connects the Oakland Coliseum Bart Station with the actual Coliseum complex. But I haven't been to a game in a really long time.
-
Still there, though not just tacos. Sausages & hot dogs too. I get the feeling that any meat in a skillet is fair game

Oakland has a deep history of activism around street vending. It's had some unintended consequences.http://oaklandlocal.com/2014/09/oakland-street-food-the-paths-to-legitimacy-2/ …

I remember one that sometimes popped up on Foothill Blvd at 25th Ave. It wasn't regular, tho. Tacos El Gordo (technically a 'taco trailer') at E14th (aka International)/42nd ave was my taco go to during a year of Bay Area exile.
