When I tweeted about this yesterday, I was pretty sure I’d get some engagement. I did strike a cord, and now know I’ve added something to this conversation on language, gender, and representation (which, somewhat ironically, doesn’t come with monetary compensation for me).

Op ed pages, meanwhile, might do well to look at their roster and consider that racial diversity on those pages doesn’t mean all that much if it’s all dominated by men.
