That's not the issue, it's not Spanish. I feel this argument I make is null and void for every Latino that has an overt use of colloquialisms in their speech, but that's not me. Until RAE adopt LatinX, and -X as a suffix, I'll never use it.https://twitter.com/aurabogado/status/943589712349949953 …

It's an English word, I agree with you there. The Spanish Language itself is dictated and regulated by RAE, anything outside of their regulations is not Spanish, but a ill-educated bastardization of the language, I personally detest.

did you miss the part of her thread where she discusses Spanish being a colonizers language and that we should challenge it?

I responded directly to it....https://twitter.com/4TruIntentions/status/943725681225162752 …

The RAE and its acolyte the French Academy are dominated by old White men who still fight to preserve the “purity” of the Spanish or FR language

10 of 25 of the RAE academics are women, I agree with you there. We disagree with it's mission, as I support the language remaining "pure" and heavily based in grammatical rules.
-
I don't think Latinx, should be isolated. I agree with OP, it's a suffix -X that would have to fundamentally be added to the grammatical rules of the language.
