If film is text, then Olaf’s Frozen Adventure is Coco’s authenticating document. It’s unnecessary and offensive; Coco is self-validating and Disney/Pixar should have understood that from the start.

You're reading Olaf's Adventure as authenticating (unnecessarily) Coco, when it seems to me it's more a bribe—the prize in the cereal box, advertized on the front, for the kid who might not know they'll like that cereal. If their's an Olaf toy in the box,they'll bug mom to get it
