Record-setting heat, just in time for the World Series in LA.pic.twitter.com/yCfIcgeHUK
Climate change may well play a part at this year’s World Series between the Dodgers and the Astros.
The Dodgers a home-field advantage in at least two ways: 1) the Astros tend to do better in Houston and worse in other cities, and...
2) if we have to play all seven games in the series, the majority (four) of these games will be at Dodgers Stadium. However....
Game one and two will be here in LA tomorrow and Wednesday. The highs are forecast to be 100°F and 98°F respectively. Dears gods.
Then again, more heat could mean balls travel further. More homers. So let’s just make sure Hernandez and Turner and Puig are up to bat.
And then again again, more heat means people get madder. There’s a correlation, I think, between high temperatures and hit batsmen.
Anyway. If you see any writing about this World Series and climate change, please send it my way! (Incl writers who doubt the connection.)
@re_ari you have to tell me when you write these things, ok?
