Houston is under water, Irma builds strength, & Burbank just caught fire while it's raining. Meanwhile Climate Change Deniers are like...pic.twitter.com/jn5ItEoy3u

Climate change is real. But it's not responsible for Burbank's fire.
Cause is unknown, but could be? Intense heat waves (like the one we have right now) are some of the effects. https://climate.nasa.gov/effects/
The cause is known: lightening, which is natural, struck brush, which natrually burns. It's been doing this forever in this region.
I assumed it was the lightning, but the increased heat waves (like the one we're in now) is possibly caused by climate change. Didn't help
This is some odd weather. 100 degrees and raining (when the lightning was happening) in Pasadena. No clue if that's climate change-related
You're definitely right that climate change increases heat waves. But this fire was going to happen either way.
If we hadn't suppressed a ton of smaller fires in that region in the past few years, we wouldn't have a massive one there now.
We keep suppressing fires to protect people and the homes they build in the middle of brush -- which inevitably burns.
Here are a couple of old threads. It's kinda the same thing every summer:https://twitter.com/aurabogado/status/884069272506347521 …
