I've come to accept that latina women can't write about food. We can publish recipes and blogs; that's where food magazines draw the line.

But all-white editors at food magazines lump latina women and latino men into one category. One gets ignored; the other gets published.
-
All-white food editors then get to tick off whatever diversity standard they created. But what they're doing is protecting the status quo.
-
Readers also miss out. The ways that we know food is lightyears ahead of your foodie fav. But effectively silenced.
