Do you know about any non-white latina food writers in the US? Can be anything from restaurant reviews to long-form. Please let me know.

This must change. Our knowledge of food as latinas is so incredibly vast. It's a shame that's not represented in print.
-
That said, some people really went out of their way to let me know about some amazing latina food writers. I should have known about them.

Carribean Fragoza wrote this perfect restaurant review (about one of my fav spots in LA):http://www.laweekly.com/restaurants/rocio-camacho-s-contemporary-take-on-oaxacan-mole-can-only-be-described-as-celestial-7235852 …

Fragoza let me know about a writer named Valentina Silva, who I wasn't familiar with. Here's some of their work: http://www.lamag.com/author/valentinasilva/page/6/ …

And then there's illyanna Maisonet. My gods, how did I not know about this amazing chef and writer? I want to go visit them soon.

"The one thing that remained unscathed was the food." —illyanna Maisonet. One of the best things I've ever read:https://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2016/07/an-exodus-and-return-to-puerto-rico.html …

Part of this is also on us as latinas. I know editors like Eater's
@hels has been wanting work like ours. It's up to us to pitch. -
Keep sending me work from latinas that write about food. It's helpful for me as a writer to see myself reflected on the page....
