When you're talking about more than one tribal nation, it's indigenous peoples. There's an s at the end. That s is very important.

As an indigenous person, it's important to me that we not collapse all indigenous peoples into one. It's like pretty basic common decency.
-
I had this conversation about indigenous peoples with an s at the end with the all-white editors and writers at my last job like ten times.
-
I'm not sure what I expected after the third time. Being that they're journalists, I supposed they would at least care about proper grammar.
-
It's especially ironic: English isn't my first language, editors at my last job would sometimes poke fun at my English/say it wasn't good.
-
Anyway, I saw an RT from my last job. Sure enough, they went with "indigenous people" in a headline. Might as well read: "we dgaf."

Heck, there’s an S at the end of United States. That doesn’t seem to cause people problems.
