Turns out that, if you piss off SXSW, they may have you deported.https://twitter.com/felixixix666/status/837386706512986112 …

Does this also apply to panelists? If you're undocumented and say something SXSW doesn't like, will they call ICE and have you deported?
Threatening to call ICE on artists on a tourist visa is unacceptable. It's colluding with an administration that's hunting down immigrants.
Sorry, @austintexasgov, but you can't be a sanctuary city when @sxsw is threatening artists with deportation.
I'm happy @AustinChronicle is covering's @sxsw ICE threats. However, Roland Swenson's quotes need to be checked:http://www.austinchronicle.com/daily/music/2017-03-02/sxsw-performance-contract-sparks-controversy/ …
You don't "sort of sponsor" someone, @sxsw. You specifically referenced people on visa waivers. They HAVE no sponsor.pic.twitter.com/QYxUQf9FJH
Even when trying to clarify, @sxsw says if you get in a fight, they'll have you deported. smdh.pic.twitter.com/mzXgdlPgGW
And, if you break @sxsw's broad pyrotechnics rule, they might call ICE. Sorry but you might be deported for holding a sparkler.pic.twitter.com/y36xWMuzcE
.@sxsw site doesn't say "we'll call ICE if you murder someone." It says you'll get deported for playing a side gig: http://support.sxsw.com/hc/en-us/articles/206421765-I-am-an-artist-located-outside-of-the-USA-What-do-I-need-to-know-about-showcasing- …
SXSW sucks for a lot of reasons, but they're not willingly trying to have undocumented persons deported.
if you're coming into Austin from out of the country (European, Asian, etc bands), SXSW asks for proof of visa to play/get paid
if you're undocumented, I'm not sure how SXSW would even know if the assumption is youre a legal resident
So. I'd encourage you to read what I posted before trying to explain it to me. @mnno
This is about collaborating with ICE to deport people. Specifically, people on tourist visas. @mnno
Additionally, there is no assumption of legal permanent residency when a person declares they're undocumented -- as many people do. @mnno
