I usually ignore the comments. But Medium emails all of them to me. And @maxmiller94 decided to comment not once. Or twice. But three times.
Not going to address all of @maxmiller94's comments. But will address this nonsense about Penny seeking "accountability" from her Lost Boys.
For journalists, among the most common of standards is identifying people by first and last names. A good journalist will include them.
A good editor will double-check the spelling of first and last name. A good fact checker will check the accuracy of the quotes used, etc.
There are times when we don't use a last name, or use a made-up name, or no name at all. It's standard for rape victims, like "Jane Doe."
In her ridiculously long Lost Boys defense, Laurie Penny indicates her desire to protect them by not giving us any of their names. Not one.
The closest we get to an identity is a person named Seabass. (Penny apparently doesn't know that's a pretty common nickname for Sebastian.)
We read that Seabass is "Argentinian" (ugh WHY when Argentine is perfectly fine but anyway!!!) and nothing else. No last name at all.
four years in miami and i hadn't learned if argentine or argentinian was correct.
Lol. Argentines are from Argentina. Argentinians sounds like people who are from Argentinia (which does't exist). @bomani_jones
