I do think that there was an organic (and therefore disorganized) nature to the riots. I also think that's worth claiming.

A rebellion or uprising implies that an identifiable political group or party did the work/organizing. This wasn't that. And that's ok.

I also acknowledge that riot implies an individualistic motivation. This wasn't that, either. I don't know that there's a perfect term tbh.

I was also thinking abt how riot is used to deligitimize the violence/destruction. Black people riot, others revolt for freedom
