I know Friday feels like it's coming at you like a big rig barreling behind you on a one-lane highway. All you can do is brace yourself.

I'm interested in people's strategies for getting through this week, getting through this month, and getting through this winter.

I'm also acknowledging that some of us *have* no strategies. We're simply feeling our way through dread. And that's ok.

I've been thinking a lot about a list a friend encouraged me to make in November. "Write down the things they can't take away," she told me.

The very first thing on my list was spring. I keep holding on to that. (Climate change notwithstanding) Spring will still arrive March 20.

Despite everything that may or may not happen in the coming weeks, spring will inevitably arrive to the North Hemisphere on March 20.

"Why spring?" asked my friend a few weeks later. Well, for all kinds of people, incl indigenous peoples and farmers, seasons are important.

March 20 means things will inevitably bloom. I was encouraged to create reminders of spring. I'm sharing what I did here.

I don't tweet about too much but plants are a really big part of my life. Mostly houseplants and some cacti. I have maybe 50 plants at home.

I also grow some food. Not too much, but enough to know the little joys it can bring. So here's what I've been doing:

What's nice about little jars is that you can take them with you on road trips and even tuck them away on domestic flights.
