I do live close to two churches, and there are pokestops there. But I live DIRECTLY next to a school; no pokestop there. #mypokehood

And what about disabled people who can't always leave home? Why should they have to pay to play
#PokémonGO? What about kids in hospitals? -
I'm really grateful to
@Charkitect for digging up the original Ingress mapping criteria:https://twitter.com/Charkitect/status/754879733347684352 …
-
Ingress asked players to include places "where locals gather." But now, it's too late to even submit to add pokestops.

Also grateful
@dorolfe took time explain that at least some phones could submit pokestop suggestions; I wasn't sure if it was laptop-only. -
I mention that because a lot of black and latinx people only use our phones—don't even own laptops.

Another big consideration is rural areas, including reservations. Some of these spots don't even get internet service.
#PokémonGO -
I still haven't heard from anyone who's playing
#PokémonGO in a rez, but I do wonder what it looks like. -
I know several white
#PokémonGO players live in rural areas pointed out how bare their spots are, too. There's a big preference for cities. -
What all of this translates into is a white male city-dweller preference for
#PokémonGO. Things we wouldn't even consider right away. -
Aside from having the ability to collect a ton of free
#PokémonGO items, some get to advance in the game much faster than the rest of us do. -
Bc of systemic inequity, the people who are already most privileged in society also get the most privilege in augmented reality.
#mypokehood -
While folks like
@The_Ed_Hominem and other tell me to relax, some get to advance in the games in ways some of us can't access.#mypokehood -
We literally have no way of submitting pokestops that would make it easier, more enjoyable for more vulnerable people to play.
#mypokehood -
All we get is the hope that maybe one day we'll get more pokestops. Maybe. Who knows.
#mypokehood -
Augmented reality is already suffering from systemic bias: from pre-k to STEM to maps to money, it's all about inequity.
#mypokehood -
That's some of what I've been thinking about. I know lots more people've seriously brilliant
#mypokehood thoughts. Can't wait to read more.

Why do you assume that black trans women don't visit the same spaces as everyone else? Do you realty want race in game design?

So it's symbolic of the white supremacist power structure that it's inconvenient for you to play a free game? Get over it.

How about street children in Takrit? Why not Tasmanian aborigines? Boanthropists? Gosh the world is so unfair.
