Petreaus, A FORMER GENERAL AND CIA DIRECTOR, kept classified records that area called black books; they include undercover names and more.
-
When Petreaus left his post as general and went to head the CIA, he should have handed over his black books. He didn't—he kept them.
-
Petraeus kept his black books—that alone is illegal. He also kept them... at home. Like the dude just had them cold chillin at his pad.
-
Petraeus then lent these black books to a civlian—with undercover IDs, details of conversations about military strategies, and a lot more.
-
Then Petraeus lied to the FBI about the whole thing. Dude straight took military secrets, kept them at home, and then lent them to a friend.
-
He KNOWINGLY did this. It wasn't his staff—it was him. And he was able to plead down to a misdemeanor; even got to keep all his stars.
-
Petraeus wasn't dishonorably discharged. He lectures at ivies and is an Aspen Ideas speaker.... He's good. He's paid.
-
Now compare Petraeus to Chelsea Manning, who's serving 35 years. It's outrageous, really.
