Lol Brigida Santos from RT is complaining that she found a poll worker who supposedly didn't speak English. Welcome to LA.

Good job, tweeps! You're right: there is no official language in the United States of America.
-
English is, in fact, a foreign language.
-
There's a sort of reflexive fear about Spanish (among others) taking over; as if that would automatically mean everything would go to shit.
-
Fact of the matter is that there are entire neighborhoods where people only speak a language other than English. And they're perfectly fine.
-
What's more is there are a TON of bilingual neighborhoods. It doesn't inherently hurt people. Might even make them smarter.

this is great
thanks for preaching the truth!

It's sad to think prior to colonization, there were ~300 Native languages spoken. In 2016, there's probably less than 150

There is no official language as the framers of constitution did not constrain us to just 1 language. We are nation of immigrants
-
"nation of immigrants" is a myth when this country was built by slaves, continues to profit from white supremacy
-
Very true. Our nation was built upon work of slaves even in White House-woodworkers etc.Slaves had no choice 2emigrate.
