This is how voting was conducted for the bulk of US history: same-day registration, no ID required. This was the standard.

You really want people to vote? Make same-day registration, ID-free voting a thing, with polling places everywhere. Make a national holiday.

I somehow forgot to mention people in jail or prison: why are they denied their right to vote? In or out of prison, it's their right!

As we know, people of color are criminalized at a much higher rate than whites. Conveniently, this messes with their right to vote, too.
