This is actually my issue with autopublishing wire like this, you get blamed for mistakes you would have caught otherwise.

Even if they autopubbed, some of these outlets also manually tweeted the story, so people's eyes and hands were on it 2/2

Again, I'm not making excuses for anyone, newsroom diversity is a HUGE issue, but just trying to show the larger picture here.

Yeah, of course. I am pretty sure though that AP wire autopublishes (no staff oversight) on a number of newspaper sites.
