Having an occasional, freelance post by a person of color doesn't make the inequity at Eater magically disappear.

In fact, having A LOT of freelance posts by people of color at Eater while have an all-white staff... that's kinda like segregation.

Aside from all of that: It's stunning how many white people are publicly responding to Eater saying "I'm not a person of color but..."

omfg all the national papers here (Canada)—virtually all white columnists; black & brown writers get occasional op-eds

when the one black guy at the leftiest paper retires I don't think there will be any non-white columnists…
