Look at marijuana decriminalization in New York: more than half of the arrestees are still black, about 40% are still latino.

I don't know why we still act like rules and regulations are applied evenly to everyone. It's 2016 way too late to keep pretending.

When we read "decriminalized," we should understand that it means "decriminalized for white people good luck everyone else!"

If New York were serious about ending unnecessary public drinking arrests for *everyone*, it would legalize it. That's what it would take.

Same goes for marijuana: legalize it, New York. Otherwise, it's perpetuating a system wherein black and latino people are still targeted.
