Marco Rubio just dragged Ted Cruz because Cruz can't speak Spanish. Of note: neither does anyone on you're newsroom.
-
-
As I've talked about for years, Marco Rubio's ability to speak perfect Spanish is going to make a difference in 2016.
-
And as I've been saying for years, 2016 will be the latino election. Too bad none of your favorite publications hire latino journalists.
-
Also I'm late on this but who was the bigot from CBS referring to racialized immigrants as "illegals"?
-
Factcheck: Ben Carson thinks about children.
-
This crowd tho I wouldn't be surprised if someone threw a tomato at one of the candidates
-
Point of clarity: one's ability to speak Spanish (or lack thereof) has little or no bearing on one's latinidad. That said... +
-
A candidate's ability to speak Spanish (or lack thereof) is a major asset during a latino election.
-
Additional point of clarity: in Spanish we don't capitalize the word "español." You're outing yourself when you write it with a capital E.
-
That's just about enough for one day. Good reminder to watch where I place my energy.
-
Also: Anyone who read this
@vox headline and thought it was Spanish... Sorry you also you don't know Spanish.http://www.vox.com/2016/2/13/10987950/spanish-cruz-rubio-debate … -
Perhaps
@vox means to write "no ES cierto." Because "no cierto," like that on its own, doesn't make any sense. No one says that. -
The story also missed the fact that Rubio was genius at making Cruz claim his latinidad. How? Oh that's right look at your newsroom.
-
For
@voxdotcom, the latino part of this AND the Spanish language part of this is completely lost. But again: look at their newsroom. -
Ultimately
@voxdotcom's decision to maintain a nearly all-white staff ahead of elex is bad for readers who now think "no cierto" is Spanish. -
As an "explainer" site,
@voxdotcom isn't explaining what's happening. At all. Like it can't even get the headline right. -
Remember that time Dewhurst challenged Cruz to debate in Spanish? Cruz declined because, as he said on the record, his Spanish is horrible.
-
Yeah, you probably don't remember that. Neither does any journalist writing about what happened last night.

"Dilo"? He didn't say dilo. Nah he can't even conjugate decir right it was gibberish.
@pinkyprincess -
@aurabogado I think is telling that guys platforming as immigrants and speak lousy Spanish even Bush's is better -
Right?! Was so nutty that Cruz went way anti-immigrant and then was like hey wait I know two words in Spanish!
@pinkyprincess -
@aurabogado has always surprised me their parents escaped from their country and America opened arms why they want to close them
