California's considered one of the more environmental-type states. Part of the reason why is we have 7 environmental agencies.
-
-
California's Department of Toxic Substances deal with hazardous waste sites—places most often located in communities of color.
-
The people who work at the agency supposedly work for the people of California. Stay with me, because this is where it gets interesting.
-
Recent emails reveal that two of the California agency's officials have been sending one another blatantly racist emails.
-
Theo Johnson and Bill Bosan, seen here, met with Latino residents from a toxic housing tract called Autumnwood.pic.twitter.com/7oAaCKx2wp
-
But in emails to one another, Johnson and Bosan mocked the way these residents speak. Writing stuff like "Uz muzt bez ignant."
-
Johnson and Bosan then concluded Autumnwood housing was pretty much a clean site. It isn't. People are literally dying from living there.
-
Although the
@CaliforniaDTSC knows about Johnson and Bosan's blatant racism about the people they serve, neither has been fired. -
These two men, a senior toxicologist with a PhD and a geologist, are paid by taxpayers they have a bias against.
-
We don't yet have all the emails that Johnson and Bosan sent to one another. We don't even know if other employees also sent racist emails.
-
I've a hunch, as do a lot of other people, that this only scratches the surface. Soon, we'll find out a lot more http://bit.ly/1QI9yfq

@aurabogado@CaliforniaDTSC fittingly this is one of reasons why Koch Brothers are "supporting" prison reform. http://www.politicususa.com/2015/11/21/kochs-justice-reform-proposal-prevents-prosecution-environmental-violations.html …Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
