Take Nebraska. Latinos: 10% of the pop, but made up 50% of death row. When lawmakers moved to abolish death penalty, latino orgs were mum.

Organizations like MALDEF and NCLR don't only not advocate against the death penalty—they don't even have a POSITION on the death penalty.

It was the latino evangelicals known as NALEC that took a position against the death penalty... they're beating the big latino orgs on this.

Capital punishment is a latino issue—but it's not treated that way by latino orgs. The same could be said for criminal justice.

Just look at California, which has more than twice as many death row inmates than Texas and Florida combined. These are latino states....
