This is fascinating. 1) Bernie Sanders knew he could defeat a Democratic black woman for a congressional seat if he ran as an independent.
2) Rather than back a black woman who had positions perhaps more radical than his own, Bernie Sanders ran his own campaign. And won.
3) Bernie Sanders then decides to run for president a quarter of a century later as a Democrat—with radical positions.
So.... yeah. I'm all for black women taking the mic from Bernie Sanders. Because recent history.
@TheReal_ELS @theonlybacchus Is it possible to think that he's the best candidate AND consider how he got there?
@TheReal_ELS @theonlybacchus If Bernie Sanders were black, he would never have won the mayorship to begin with.
@aurabogado 2/2 Bernie won the 90 election because he was a better politician as an independent than the establishment backed woman.
@rottondecay The establishment didn't back Dolores Sandoval. That is part of my entire point, but you'd have to be paying attention.
@aurabogado 1/2 The establishment (the democrats) backed her, the people of Vermont didn't.
@aurabogado
I'd love to see someone like that as his running mate
