Can we retire the narrative that says white people never talk about race? Cause you that shit ain't true.

True, white people might not say, "Here's what it is to be white." But they're talking race. All. The. Time.
-
It's that the language is coded. But it's not really. We don't need a key to decode how whites talk about race. It's apparent.
-
I'm gonna share some quick examples of white people talking about race—things I've personally heard. You'll recognize them.
-
White person: "That school is so ghetto." Meaning: "Black people go to that school."
-
White person: "I'd like a nanny that speaks English." Meaning: "Find me a white woman for this job."
-
White person: "That's a bad neighborhood." Meaning: "There are black or latino people there."
-
You wanna say white people talk about race in coded ways, that everyone understands anyway? Cool. But don't say whites don't talk race.

@aurabogado True. The only thing white people won't talk about is their incomes. I love watching people squirm when I say how little I makeThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
